On 21 July, Victoria and I packed up the car, dipped our feet in the Atlantic Ocean for good luck, had a parting bacon egg and cheese with large iced tea, and set out due west.
We drove for 17 days, stopping along our route to make quick visits with friends and family.
We traversed twelve states, saw 4 out of 5 Great Lakes, the Mississippi and Colorado Rivers, Four Corners, the Grand Canyon, Historic Route 66, the Mojave desert & so much more.
A few days ago, we arrived in Los Angeles
—and decided to stay.
As someone who has found themselves ‘on the move’ for much of recent memory, I’m wise enough not to refer to this as a “permanent home” too early… but I’m thrilled that we’re here, and so excited to get involved in the L.A. cultural ecosystem.
It’s an adventure for sure, and I’m inspired to walk in the footsteps of those who’ve made the coastal exchange—heck, if it was good enough for Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Adams, Billy Joel, and Steely Dan…
So come visit us on the West Coast! You’ll find me here enjoying the Pacific, hearing tons of amazing concerts, making lots of art of my own, hiking the hills, snooping classic movie locations, and launching a company. (Wait, what?!)
